Have you ever found something very intriguing and could see yourself being very passionate about this something, but just couldn’t find the next step, or feared failing at this something?
Well…. That is how I have felt about blogging for the better part of 5 years. I have found so much inspiration from bloggers like Ana White, Shanty-2-Chic, Sawdust Girl, and Magnolia Market (Joanna Gaines). My intrigue hasn’t so much been their fame, but seeing these women work on their passion day in and day out, sharing their experiences or their expertise, teaching people like me how to follow our dream, that is what is truly inspiring.
Taking a Sketch Up drawing from Ana White and turning it into a console table for under the living room TV. Following Sawdust Girl’s home renovation projects and saying to my husband, “We can soooo renovate that bathroom ourselves!!!”. (Thankfully he is an adventurous guy!!) Then, over time, seeing what is frustrating about a room in our home, envisioning what could be built to improve the organization (and beauty, of course!), drawing up a rough plan and executing a cabinet built in.
These are just a small list of projects that we have tackled in the Deaton home. A glimpse of some of the projects I have been dreaming of sharing for quite some time, but feared failing at it. It is with the inspiration of many bloggers before me and the tremendous support of my husband and close friends, that I am committing to myself to try my hand and documenting my projects and sharing them on the internet.
Scared? Who me?? Heck yes!!!! 🙂 But if I don’t try it, I will never know, right?
My biggest hope is that I will have the opportunity to share what I learn with many others so that they too will try something new.
Happy New Year!
